Capital One Lounge Dallas / DFW lounge review – one of the best lounges I’ve been to
Recently I had a connecting flight in Dallas / DFW airport with a layover of about 2 hours, and I was able to get a chance to finally visit the Capital One Lounge that is in the airport. The Capital One Lounge opened a few months ago, and if you’ve seen any other travel blogger reviews of it, you’ll know that it is definitely a step above many of the other airport lounges in the country (and even around the world)

I mean I wasn’t expecting it to be the Emirates First Class lounge in Dubai, but I had a feeling that it was going to be better than a random “The Club” location.
Access to the Capital One Lounge DFW
The Capital One lounge is not affiliated with Priority Pass (like many airport lounges are). Instead, you’ll need to be a Capital One member. Capital One Venture X cardholders get unlimited access along with two guests. Capital One Venture and Spark Miles cardholders can enjoy two free visits per year. The day (paid) rate is $45 for cardholders and $65 for everyone else. Kids under two are welcome at no charge.

Capital One Lounge Dallas / DFW location
The Capital One Travel Lounge DFW is located in Terminal D of the sprawling DFW airport. If you are arriving from one of the other terminals, you’ll need to either walk over to Terminal D or take the free shuttle that connects the terminal. The Capital One Lounge in the Dallas airport is located next to Gate D22.
Once you get there, you can see the Capital One lounge next to the American Airlines flagship lounge, as the two lounges share an entrance.
You’ll take the elevator up two floors. The Capital One Travel Lounge is open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. A few times when I’ve been there, it has been at capacity so there’s an agent down at the bottom level that puts your name on a waiting list. I’ve never waited more than 5 or 10 minutes.

There is a wide variety of seating options available at The Capital One Lounge in Dallas / DFW airport.
One nice thing about the seating was that they had a variety of different configurations of seating, so no matter how many people were in your party you would have a convenient location.
I was there in the late morning (starting around 11 a.m.) for a few hours and the lounge did not appear crowded at all. There were definitely people around, but the lounge is big enough that there was never a problem finding plenty of seating or needing to wait for food or drinks. Contrast that to some of the American Express Centurion lounges which are I would say an equivalent level of lounge but are so crowded to the point of being unusable.
Capital One DFW airport lounge review: food
The food and drinks in the Capital One DFW lounge is another great perk. Not only is there a wide variety of different types of food and drink, the quality seemed to be much higher than you’ll find in other lounges.
They had several grab and go containers for drinks and sandwiches if you only had a short time to stay in the lounge
The soft drinks operated by tap rather than having cans or needing to go to the bar, with a wide variety of drinks available.
There is also a full bar. You can see the full list of available drinks in the menu section below. Most drinks are complimentary, though there are a few “top shelf” drinks which come with an additional cost.

Here is the Capital One Lounge menu for food and drinks, at least at the time of this writing (July 2020). I didn’t see this menu posted anywhere in the lounge itself, but I got it from the Capital One DFW lounge website itself. Of course, it is subject to change over time and due to availability
Capital One DFW Lounge wifi
The Capital One DFW lounge wifi was quite fast.
I had no Internet problems at all, even though there were quite a few people that I saw on devices and seemingly using the Internet.
Capital One Lounge DFW amenities
The Capital One Travel Lounge in DFW has several different amenities, which are located to the rear of the lounge itself
I only took a picture of the cycling room, which had a couple of different bikes that you could use for exercise while looking out over the airport tarmac at the planes taking off and landing.
In addition to the cycling and yoga room, they have nursing lounges, a shower suite, a relaxation room as well as a multi-faith meditation room. There are also luggage lockers that you can use (near the check-in desk), though many people I saw chose to bring their carryon luggage along with them in the lounge.

In any case, I rate the Capital One Lounge as an outstanding lounge and it is definitely my go-to lounge in the DFW / Dallas airport. If you have access through either the Spark, Venture or Venture X card, I would definitely recommend it the next time you are at DFW.
