Yankee Pier – San Francisco Airport Priority Pass SFO restaurant

A few months ago, I arrived early in the morning at the San Francisco airport (SFO). There are actually a few different Priority Pass SFO options, but I decided to go for Yankee Pier, which is in Concourse F. Concourse F is mostly if not completely United flights, and the main reason that I chose Yankee Pier was that I had arrived on United (from Boise, Idaho) so it was the most convenient option. There are a variety of actual lounges as well as a few other restaurants (Mustard’s Grill, Lark Creek Grill and San Francisco Giants Clubhouse). So no matter what concourse you’re at or what you’re in the mood for, you should have plenty of options.

How to get Priority Pass Select access

Priority Pass Select membership is a perk that comes with many of the premium and ultra-premium credit cards. Here is a brief sample of some of the credit cards that come with Priority Pass Select membership:

  • The Platinum Card® from American Express
  • Hilton Aspire
  • U.S. Bank Altitude™ Reserve Visa Infinite® Card
  • Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant
  • Citi Prestige® Card
  • Hilton Business card (10 visits per year)
  • Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card (10 visits per year)
  • Chase Sapphire Reserve
  • Capital One Venture X

However it is important to note that if you have a Priority Pass membership from an American Express card, you won’t be able to use it at restaurants, including Yankee Pier in San Francisco SFO airport. Starting January 1, 2023, that will also be true for people with a Priority Pass membership from the Capital One Venture X card.

See top credit card offers here.

Priority Pass membership is a credit card perk that has definitely seen a lot less usage with the lack of travel. It will be interesting to see how Priority Pass (and its parent company Collinson Group) handle those changes. It would not surprise me to see credit cards change if/how Priority Pass is included as a benefit, or to see Priority Pass make changes as well. It would also not surprise me if Collinson Group went bankrupt / out of business. 🙂

SFO Priority Pass – Yankee Pier location

Yankee Pier is located in Concourse F, near Gate F4

If you are entering the secure zone in Concourse F, it’s right past security. All of the terminals at SFO are connected airside, so no matter where you enter the secure zone, it shouldn’t be very far.

Yankee Pier (San Francisco Airport Priority Pass) review – menu

The menu is posted out front of the restaurant, as is typical with airport restaurants. Once you sit down, another copy of the menu is provided if you’re not already sure what you want. They do offer all day breakfast as well as a variety of different local and national favorites.

San Francisco Airport Priority Pass / Yankee Pier food

As a reminder, with Priority Pass you get a $28 credit towards anything on the menu. Since I was there early in the morning, I was in the mood for breakfast. I ordered the Meat Lovers Scramble, which came with eggs, ham, sausage and hash browns.

It was very delicious and I would definitely recommend that.

Should You Tip at the San Francisco Airport Priority Pass restaurant?

Generally I believe it is appropriate to tip at Priority Pass restaurants like Yankee Pier at SFO. The workers there generally get a lower wage because it is expected that they will get additional compensation in the form of tips. If you use the full $28 of your Priority Pass restaurant benefit, I think a tip of around $5 or so is appropriate. Tip more if you’re feeling more generous or because you didn’t have to pay anything out of pocket for your meal.

SFO Priority Pass – Yankee Pier review

Yankee Pier is the San Francisco Priority Pass SFO restaurant and is a decent alternative if you’ve got some time (and hunger) to kill in the SFO airport. It serves a variety of different kinds of foods so no matter what you’re in the mood for, you should be able to find something to fit your choice.
