One of the less “hidden” sweet spots in the miles and points world has been using Etihad Guest miles to fly on Royal Air Maroc. I say less hidden because several years ago, this was an amazing sweet spot where you could fly ANA first class for an incredibly cheap amount, or Brussels Airlines for a roundtrip from the US to Europe for under 30,000 miles. Tragically, like all good things in life, many of the outrageously good deals have been devalued away. But flying Royal Air Maroc is still a very attractive use of Etihad Guest miles (and also Citi ThankYou points, as they are a 1:1 transfer partner)
