As of this last Saturday, Hawaii-based Island Air has ceased all air service. The airline filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last month and continued many of their operations, but now the airline has been forced to abruptly end all of their 250+ weekly departures.

The future looks bleak for Island Air as they move to liquidate assets. Airline employees were seen packing up their belongings on their final day. The airline did their best to strike a deal that would allow them to continue operations (and hopefully recover), but that is no longer a viable option.
