What Is A UNESCO Global Geopark?

UNESCO Global Geoparks protect single, unified geographical areas home to internationally important landscapes and sites. Their primary purpose is threefold: sustainable, economic development, protection, and education. To be considered as a geopark, an area must have several geologically significant locations.
