Growing up in New York, Boston seemed to slip through the cracks of my youth. I never went on a family vacation or school trip there, nor had any particular reason to go as an adult. 

That all changed when I chose to attend the TravelCon (travel blogging) conference this year. I gave myself a few full days to explore before and after the event; I discovered dozens of free things to do in Boston.
